    1978 - Australian Victory

    Held from 15 to 20-Sep-1978

    1978 Skol Winners Allan Clarke

THE ELEVENTH SKOL 6 promotion should provide the best racing we have yet seen in London. After each successful event one wonders what improvements can bring about an even more exciting formula than the last. I hope the answer lies, this year, in the composition of world-class teams of level ability and mixing successful road racing cyclists with the world's leading indoor track specialists.
We bring nine new names to Wembley, and of the first-timers from the Continent we welcome reigning world professional road champion, Gerrie Knetemann, whose exploits over the last years have stamped him one of the world's most consistent madmen. Riding with Gerrie will be Jan Raas, also a "yellow jersey" winner in this year's Tour de France.
Denmark's prolific medal winner Niels Fredborg, ex-world amateur champion; Constant Tourne, powerful West German Gunther Schumacher, and road-racing star Leo van Vliet join our favourite stars to provide all the action needed to make this year's SKOL 6 a memorable one.
The three new British names for SKOL 6, Ian Hallam, Maurice Burton and Paul Medhurst, are not only determined to show well in front of their supporters, but must also be intent on impressing visiting continental track directors.
Seven-times winner Patrick Sercu, teams with our local matador, Tony Gowland, to re-form the winning combination of the 1972 SKOL 6. With Sercu's great speed to back Tony's own aggressive style of riding, he has every chance to repeat his moment of triumph.
But whichever team rides the winners' lap of honour on Wednesday night, I know that all seven sessions will have entertained you鸿运彩票是正规平台吗 with the unique, finely balanced mixture of sport and show, that only 6 Day racing can provide.
